Honda and Nissan have partnered together to bring the next generation of software-defined-vehicles. The two companies signed a memorandum declaring their collaboration for this upcoming age of artificial intelligence and electrification.

Oh, Mitsubishi is also helping however they can to contribute any new knowledge or strengths.

History of Honda Roadsters… New Roadster EV

From the first S-series S500, to the most recent S660, Honda has had a special place for beloved roadsters. Since 1966, Honda has introduced and evolved their small and mighty sports cars… and they’re not done yet.

According to the Japanese automotive publication Best Car, Honda is looking to introduce a new roadster to challenge the Mazda Miata. This roadster will be the successor to the Japan-only mid-engined 660cc powered S660.

In order to appeal to an international audience, Honda plans to extend the car size and make room for a fully electric powertrain, rumored to be the same powertrain as the Prologue. Given the lighter size, we can look forward to an acceleration of 0-60mph in under 5 seconds.

Honda Sports EV Concept, 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show

We’re certainly curious to see what might become of this Honda roadster EV; especially what it will look like. Do you think it’ll bear more resemblance to it’s s-series predecessors? Or the 2017 concept Honda Sports EV from the Frankfurt Auto Show?
