The 2026 Passport gets Nod from Autotrader

The all-new Honda Passport has been named one of “Best New Cars of 2026” by Autotrader—which is a polite, editorial way of saying, “this one’s worth your attention.”

What changed? The Passport grew into itself a bit. The design is more squared-off and confident, the interior is still spacious and easy to work with, and the whole thing feels more intentional than before—less “blending in,” more “I know exactly what I’m doing here.”

You’ve still got the V6 doing its thing—smooth, capable, no drama—and available all-wheel drive that can handle sand, mud, whatever.

And if you lean toward the TrailSport trims, it gets even more serious about leaving pavement behind, with the hardware to back it up. We’re talking tow hooks, beefy tires, the works!

AutoTrader’s editors called out that balance directly: rugged enough to handle real adventures, but still comfortable and manageable when it’s just another weekday.

  • Versatility? ✅

  • Performance? ✅

  • Good looks? ✅

Now here’s where it gets more interesting! The Passport was also recently named a Top Finisher for Best Value Mid-Size SUV! More on the Affordability report next!

Where will you take the 2026 Passport TrailSport?

The Affordability Report is Here and Honda’s on it!

Every year, the Cars.com Best Value New Cars report drops like a receipt on the table. And Honda’s a frequent mention so let’s talk about it!

With the average new vehicle price pushing past $46K, this list cuts through the noise and highlights the vehicles that offer a realistic starting point for new drivers.

So when multiple Hondas across different segments make it on the list, it’s great news for everyone!

  1. Honda CR-V LX  Best Value Compact SUV (Top Finisher)

  2. Honda Passport RTL Best Value Mid-Size SUV (Top Finisher)

  3. Honda Ridgeline Sport Best Value Mid-Size Pickup (Top Finisher)

Each one landed as a Top Finisher in its category, reinforcing a consistent theme: Honda delivers capability where it counts, without drifting into premium pricing territory.

As we know, the Honda CR-V has a habit of making itself useful without making a big deal about it. Just kidding, it wins awards left and right but who can blame it?

The CR-V’s generous cargo space, comfortable daily ride, and weekend-readiness make it a top contender for anyone’s crossover SUV shortlist.

While the Honda Ridgeline takes a different approach to being a truck and that’s why it works so well. It’s more composed on the road than most pickup trucks which makes it easier to live with day to day.

But the Honda Ridgeline doesn’t forget its main job either, with a bed that is unbelievably practical, offering an in-bed trunk as well so you can secure your cargo even more.

And the Passport, well we already talked about the Passport above! It’s a cool looking SUV. You should absolutely buy one if you’re looking for a weekend warrior rig or just looking to cruise around town for groceries in style.
