Is a New Honda Factory coming to North America?

The Honda Passport built in Lincoln, Alabama.

Before we dive into this one, let’s be absolutely clear: this is currently in the “highly-credible speculation” phase, but it gives us a fantastic look into how much Honda values the American driver.

Right now, North America is officially Honda’s largest profitable market, with 40% of Honda’s entire global sales.

Now, in a very recent interview with a Japanese newspaper, Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe dropped a heavy hint, stating “I want to increase the numbers of sales in North America a lot. The basic idea is to produce in a place where there is demand.”

Honda already has impressive facilities in Ohio, Indiana, and Alabama, but according to recent industry reports, the American factories are currently running at an incredible 90% of their total maximum capacity.

So while it may appear as though business is booming, Honda’s CEO noted that it doesn’t leave much “buffer room” to handle any sudden supply chain hiccups.

Hence, all the recent speculation that perhaps Honda intends to build more in North America.

So what’s the official word?

“Honda is continuing evaluation of our production requirements to support the needs of our customers, consistent with our leading commitment to build products in America, which is now approaching 50 years.

However, no decisions have been made regarding a new U.S. plant”

Honda’s official statement.

Okay, okay, they didn’t exactly say No!

Right?

RIGHT??

Built Where You Drive: Honda Leads 2026 American Index

When you think of an "American-made" vehicle, it represents local pride, reliable craftsmanship, and knowing it was built to handle American roads by the people who live on them.

The latest results from the Cars.com 2026 American-Made Index® reinforce that standard, placing Honda at the top of the automotive industry with five different models ranking inside the Top 10.

That’s right, count ‘em, FIVE!

In fact, over the entire 21-year history of this index, Honda has earned more top-tier placements than any other automotive brand. But who’s keeping track, right??

For local Florida buyers, it means that when you get into a Honda, you are driving a vehicle deeply rooted in local communities like right here in Orlando.

Did You Know? More than 62% of all Honda vehicles sold in the U.S. last year were built right here in America. And it doesn’t stop there!

Last year (2025), nearly 99% of all Honda vehicles sold in the U.S. were made in North America, using domestic and globally made parts.

To me it feels great to support a brand that continues to invest heavily in the American market and steadily provides thousands of Americans with work opportunities
