The Honda Prelude is coming back - and it’s not looking to blend in

Honda Prelude Concept Photo

After a 25-year hiatus, the Honda Prelude is making its astonishing return and its ready to steal some hearts… and maybe a few glances from Civic Si and Type R fans. Sleek, low, and unapologetically two-door, the 2026 Prelude is Honda’s newest sports coupe!

First, let’s cover history, see in the 1970s, Honda’s rise in America was thanks to an unlikely trio, the Honda Accord, the Civic, and….the PRELUDE!

Now, for as long as I can remember, Honda always offered a two door sports coupe of some type! The Prelude, since its inception, was a coupe based on its four-door Accord sibling.

Somewhere along the way, Honda began offering coupe versions of both the Accord and Civic, taking away from the Prelude’s shine until sadly in 2001, the Prelude was no more…BUT that all changes NOW!

Enter the sixth generation: 2026 Honda Prelude

Under the hood, the Prelude is the first-ever electrified version of the nameplate, powered by Honda’s award-winning two-motor hybrid-electric system. Now I know what you’re thinking - “Whoa whoa whoa! Hybridsports car?”

Yes, yes it is. The 2026 Prelude is going to be paired with the all-new Honda S+ Shift mode for even more responsive, linear control designed for sporty enhancements.

But that’s not all, because Honda is giving this Prelude legitimate sporty chops!

  • Legendary Civic Type R dual-axis suspension (tuned just for Prelude)

  • Wide-track stance

  • Brembo front brakes

  • New Drive Modes

The result? Exceptional driving dynamics, everyday comfort, and a level of sporty engagement that stays true to the Honda Prelude legacy.

Expect the 2026 Honda Prelude later this year!

Honda Prologue EV gets access to Nationwide Superchargers!

A Honda Prologue using the new charge adapter at a Tesla Supercharger

Road trips just got easier for Honda Prologue drivers. The first Honda-approved NACS-to-CCS DC fast-charging adapter is here, unlocking access to more than 23,500 select Tesla Superchargers nationwide!

That means more dependable charging stops, wherever your route takes you.

Tested for performance and compatibility, this is the only DC fast-charging adapter Honda recommends for the Prologue. You can order one now through Classic Honda or online at ClassicHonda.com.

Using an approved adapter is key — Tesla Superchargers require it, and it helps ensure reliable charging while keeping your Honda warranty intact.

Your Prologue can even use built-in Google Maps to find Supercharger locations right now!

For now, you’ll start sessions through the Tesla app, but HondaLink integration and plug-and-charge capability are on the way.

It’s a bike, It’s a Pokémon, it’s … a HONDA?!

Just over a week ago, Honda revealed a most unusual vehicle in front of thousands of sports fans… the Honda Koraidon.

For our younger readers and those with kids, you may recognize it as the Bike Pokémon from the hit game Pokémon Scarlet!

Get this, folks! Honda worked closely with the Pokémon team to ensure they could recreate Koraidon here at nearly the exact same proportions as the legendary creature from the game.

So what’s the point??

It’s a future mobility vehicle that showcases Honda’s self-balancing technology and tech, in a bid to inspire children all over by bringing dreams to life!

But really, this is Honda’s response to their long-time cross-town rival showing off the Toyota Miraidon in 2024, a rival Pokémon.

The -redacted- Miraidon

On the Honda Japan press release, Honda states they are very serious about developing this vehicle as they see it as a way to continue developing and researching their mobility technology. That’s cool!

Whatever the case, can we get a Honda Passport TrailSport in the next Pokémon game? Those games always have off-road adventures. Just think about it Honda - that’s all…
